Who Should Attend
The Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid is ideal for those who work with or come into contact with infants or children as part of their voluntary or work related roles. It is also a suitable course for parents, families with young children and babysitters.

Learning Outcomes and Assessment criteria
- Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider
- Be able to assess an emergency situation safely
- Be able to provide first aid to an infant/child who is unresponsive and breathing normally
- Be able to provide first aid to an infant/child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
- Be able to provide first aid to infant/child who has a foreign body airway obstruction
- Be able to provide first aid to an infant/child with external bleeding
- Understand how to provide first aid to an infant/child who is suffering from shock
- Understand how to provide first aid to an infant/child with anaphylaxis/li>
Course Length
1 Day
The Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification is designed for anyone who would like to become qualified in administering first aid to children and infants, specifically infants under the age of 1 and children from the age of 1 up until the onset of puberty.
If the learner is required to fulfil the full first aid requirements as set out by the EYFS then they will require the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Qualification. This Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid is a stand alone qualification, it also forms Unit 1 of the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid qualification. Where Unit 2 is completed within 10 weeks, this qualification can be converted to the full Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid.
